“Of course, the actors were tested by having to switch roles midstream, but they all passed with flying colors. Two of opening night’s most noteworthy dual performances came from Kelley and Donson... Donson morphed from an ashamed, confused young boy to a aging, wistful woman in a way that inspired close analysis of the characters’ similarities.”

"I've had the great pleasure of working with director Emma Donson on set. She had impressive control of the room, maintaining a friendly environment while also steering us actors to better choices. It's rare for a young director to have that kind of poise. I very much look forward to working with her again someday."

"My name is Danny Wilfred.  I am a graduate from the University of Michigan where I first had the pleasure of working with Miss Donson on a monologue driven play called The Eight: Reindeer Monologues. Emma's direction of that piece was inspiring and collaborative. She encouraged all of us to explore and bring life to each character, using our personal perspectives and voices in intriguing new ways. Her leadership and creativity continued to flourish after graduation when she developed a monthly play reading series from her home. Each month she brought a group of innovative and eager young artists together to read a new play and hone our craft. Often these plays were new works developed by members of our community or interesting pieces touching on issues Miss Donson personally found relevant and intriguing. I met so many wonderful artists and made lasting connections due to Emma's artistic outreach. A woman of many talents, Emma Donson is an excellent addition to any team."
